Interplay Serious Game ReMIX

Interplay Serious Game tested in UK with Frenck partners

UK MAP farmer members tested Interplay Serious Game with French and Scottish ReMIX teams

As part of WP6 activities, project partners from France visited SRUC on the 3rd week of February. With the focused placed on developing cereal/legume intercrops for European agriculture, one of these activities is the development of a Serious Game called Interplay. Interplay is a discussion tool for farmers and advisors to use in designing cereal/legume intercrops. The game is being developed in French and English for a variety of environmental conditions in France, the UK and Denmark.

In February,  three workshops were run in SRUC

– the first was with a group of postgraduate students in Edinburgh facilitated by Kairsty Topp.

- The French team then travelled up to Aberdeen for a workshop with farmers

- Another one took place with SAC Advisors, together woth SRUC ReMIX team members Christine Watson and Robin Walker from the SRUC.

Following feedback from these workshops, the board and cards used in the game will be further developed. The next step is a computer model which works alongside the board game and aids discussion and design. When the model is ready the French team will come back to see how it works, which will  help in its final development.

French visitors were Clementine Meunier (INRAe) and Marion Casagrande (ITAB).

SAC advisors - Gavin Elrick, Ewan Johnston and Aileen Buchanan

Farmers – who are also involved in growing intercrops in North East Scotland as part of the project – Murray Cooper and Gordon Whiteford
