WP3 will identify key-traits and mechanisms involved in the suppression of weeds, foliar and root pests and pathogens, and the enhancement of beneficial species such as mycorrhizae, bees, predators and parasitoids in species mixtures. WP3 will also determine how species mixtures affect the soil micro- and macro-biome that contribute to plant health and productivity. WP3 will make use of data from field trials (WP1), on-going cropping system/long-term experiments integrating species mixtures and reduced tillage and experiments under controlled conditions.
